After graduating from the Maryland Institute, the college received a large grant to institutionalize community art making involving Baltimore City children and Maryland Institute students. I was hired as Assistant Director for Student Relations to help make these efforts possible. Our department was called Community Arts Partnerships (CAP). While at CAP I oversaw many projects, but my specialty was creating animations with the students and children. These are stills from some of the animations. We made a range of stop-motion animations using materials from paper and watercolor to clay to food to pipe-cleaners. The children created stories about their community, their future and narratives they made up. Some where group projects and others were individual projects.
